Track and split expenses with your partner
When two people share a household, the question is rarely "what is the exact split of this one dinner?" It is "where is our money going, and who is covering what?" Happy Dad answers that by putting every expense into one shared budget and showing who added it.
What it does
- Every expense is tagged with the person who entered it.
- The Partners view in the monthly overview shows each person's total, their share of spending and their top categories.
- Both phones update live, so you are always looking at the same numbers.
- The Happy Dad+ dashboard can filter by person and show who covers which category.
What it does not do
Happy Dad is a shared budget tracker, not an IOU or settle-up app. It does not calculate who owes whom or request payments. If you want a per-bill split with debt tracking, a dedicated bill-splitting app fits better. If you want one shared picture of household spending, this fits.
A simple way to use it
- Both partners join the same household.
- Whoever pays logs the expense in two taps.
- At the end of the month, open the Partners view to see how spending was shared.
Questions
Does Happy Dad calculate who owes whom?
No. It tracks and shows who spent what, but it does not handle IOUs or settling up.
Can I see each partner's spending?
Yes. The Partners view in the monthly overview shows each person's total, share and top categories.
