A shared budget app for couples

Most couples do not need a complicated money system. They need to see the same numbers at the same moment, so nobody has to ask "did you already buy groceries this week?" Happy Dad is a shared budget app built around that one idea: one household, one set of category budgets, and both phones update live.

How sharing works

  1. One partner creates the household and picks a name.
  2. They tap Invite and share a 6-digit code. It is single use and expires after 7 days.
  3. The other partner creates an account, enters the code, and lands straight in the shared budget.

From then on every expense either of you adds shows up on the other phone without a refresh, and the other person gets a push notification.

What you both see

Why no bank connection

Happy Dad never asks for bank or card access. You add an expense in about two taps: pick the category, type the amount. It is a little more manual than an auto-importing app, and it means there is nothing to sync, nothing to re-authenticate and no account credentials leaving your hands.

Questions

Do both of us need the app?

Yes. Each partner uses their own iPhone and both stay in sync live.

How does my partner join?

You share a 6-digit invite code from the Household tab. It is single use and expires after 7 days.

Can we have more than two people in a household?

Yes. The household supports more than two members, which also suits families.
