A budget app for new parents who have no time to budget
A new baby changes your spending in ways a spreadsheet from last year never planned for. Diapers, wipes, formula, a stroller, an unexpected pharmacy run at 2 a.m. You also have far less patience for software. A budget app for new parents has to be fast enough to use one-handed and clear enough to read half asleep.
Built for the one-handed minute
Open the app, tap the plus on a category, type the amount, tap Add. That is the whole flow. There is no month-end sit-down required, because each expense is logged when it happens, in the time it takes to put the bottle down.
Make categories match your new life
- Add categories like Diapers, Baby gear, Childcare or Pediatrician.
- The app picks a fitting icon from the category name, including baby-related ones.
- Set a monthly limit for each, and watch the bar change color as you approach it.
Two exhausted people, one set of numbers
Whoever is out buying the supplies logs it, and the other parent sees it appear and gets a notification. Nobody has to text "did you order more diapers?" and nobody buys a second pack by accident.
Looking back, when you have a moment
The monthly overview shows spending by day, category and person. Having a full month recorded makes it easier to set realistic limits for the next one.
Honest limits
It will not import transactions, it will not tell you what to cut, and it is iPhone only for now. It is a simple shared log, which is exactly what is manageable on little sleep.
Questions
Can I track baby-specific spending?
Yes. Create categories like Diapers or Baby gear and give each its own monthly limit.
Do both parents need to log expenses?
Either parent can add expenses, and both see them live, so whoever shops can log it on the spot.
Is it free for new parents?
The core app is free. The optional Happy Dad+ web dashboard is a paid add-on with the first month free.
